Prepreg stands for pre-impregnated. Prepreg designates a semi-finished product consisting of fabrics, non-crimp fabrics or continuous fibres (glass, carbon, aramid) impregnated with an uncured thermosetting matrix.

The prepreg matrix usually consists of a mixture of epoxy resin and hardener. Prepregs are stored at -18 °C to prevent resin and hardener from reacting. Prepregs are processed in a mould under pressure and temperature application.

The matrix systems in our delivery programme differ by their curing temperature and their resin type.

Prepregs were originally developed for the aircraft industry but are meanwhile used in all applications where high temperature resistance, superior durability as well as extremely light weights of the material are required.
